Refurbishment of raised beds

We would like to say a big thank you to Eddie Mulholland and everyone at Loxley Scaffolding in Kidderminster for their very generous donation of scaffolding boards. At the farm we have many raised beds where our service users and our staff enjoy growing a wide variety of vegetables and plants. This has become a favourite group activity for many of our attendees who enjoy not only the task of growing and then eating the fresh food they have helped to produce, but also love the social interaction that they gain from working in a mixed ability group.
Unfortunately over the past year or so the original boards that were used to create the borders for the raised beds have started to rot and decay which has led to some of them not being able to remain in use. With this kind donation we will not only be able to fix and bring back these dormant beds, we will also be able to breathe some new life into the tired looking ones that are currently soldiering on.

Jamboree Patch

Since March this year, many of our clients have been involved in our Lottery funded Jamboree Patch Days. Clients who have attended the farm for four sessions spaced over a period of four weeks, have worked with our staff to create some lovely brightly coloured instruments. Our regular service users have also been involved in this exciting project and have helped to erect the large outdoor instruments and also make benches to create seating areas so people can enjoy themselves safely and in comfort. The clients and their carers who were involved in the project and anyone who regularly attends the farm are being asked to come and enjoy our open air opening ceremony on the 31st October 2014 at 1pm in the afternoon. There will be musical instruments to try and music to get involved in and there will be drinks and refreshments on sale. Please contact the farm if you require any further information and we look forward to seeing you at our fun filled night.

Candle Night Party

We are holding a fund-raising event at Nineveh Ridge Farm, to raise money for our service users’ Christmas Party and presents.
Our Deputy Manager’s wife has offered to hold a ‘Partylite’ candle event, there will also be a stall selling our handcrafted wooden reindeer, as well as plenty of drinks and nibbles to enjoy.
This promises to be a fun and sociable event, don’t feel obliged to spend anything, just come and join us for a drink if you like.

The Big Lottery

Thanks to a grant from The Big Lottery Fund, Nineveh Ridge is able to offer FREE DAYS again. This time tying woodcraft in with music. Pippa says “We are creating a big outside music area (The Nineveh Jamboree Patch): with a wheelchair friendly surface, bright eye catching fencing andbenches, and two GINORMOUS readymade instruments.

During the year we will be inviting service users with learning disabilities to come and make instruments with us: some to take home, and some to use here. Then, come the autumn, we can invite the public to come and listen to a musical Jamboree’. If you want more details, please contact the farm.
